Hardstanding: This refers to an area of hard surface, tarmac, block paving, or concrete that a vehicle can be moved off the road nearer to the house. When designing remember the gross weight of the largest vehicle that can enter the site, the turning circle or hammerhead and room to exit the vehicle. A car will need approx 5.0m length and 2.5m width for a parking plot and 2.3m for an entrance.
